On Saturday the 21st of March, Waste Alchemists is officially launching the platform and we would love to celebrate that with you. The day has two parts:

1. This hands-on workshop where you experience waste transformation yourself with Studio Fiep (14:00 – 17:00)
2. An opening event where we launch the platform together with stories, playful elements to discover waste transformation and good conversations (17:00 – 20:00 – separate registration here).

Workshop description

For the official launch event of Waste Alchemists, Studio Fiep is giving you the unique opportunity to become a waste alchemist yourself during her ‘Make your bag from festival banners’ workshop.

First choose from a selection of reclaimed banners, each with its own marks, textures, and surprises. Then Fiep will guide you through the process of designing a bag that fits your style and needs, guided step by step through the making process. The focus is on working with what the material gives you.

Waste transformation is present in every choice you make. Cuts, seams, and shapes are influenced by what is already there. The result is a bag that could not have existed without its previous life.

You leave with a finished bag, new making skills, and a very tangible example of how waste can shift from backdrop to awesome centre stage.
