Custom modular sofa system made with otherwise wasted wool and recycled post-consumer PET by Kairos, designed to let you build, rebuild and adapt your seating over time.
This custom modular sofa system gives you full control over your setup. Start compact for a smaller space, expand into a lounge configuration later, or reconfigure when you move. The structure is built to adapt.
Kairos offers eight different modules, from ottoman and armchair to two-seater, three-seater and chaise longue. You can combine them freely to create your ideal layout. Every frame includes built-in connection points, so modules can be attached, detached or rearranged without replacing the base.
Production happens in controlled batches to avoid overstock and unnecessary waste. The steel frames provide long-term stability. Back cushions are filled with Dutch sheep wool, seat cushions with high-quality cold foam. All covers are removable and washable. If a cover wears out or you want a new look, you can replace it separately.
The online configurator allows you to experiment with different setups, fabrics and colours. With the AR tool, you can visualise your configuration directly in your own living room. Prefer personal guidance? You can book an appointment and design the layout together.
This is a seating system designed to evolve with you instead of being replaced when life changes.
If you’d like to learn more about how Kairos builds modular, repairable furniture with circular materials, you can explore their full story via the Alchemists page.
Each configuration is supported by a materials passport detailing exactly what’s inside. The modular steel frames allow you to expand, reduce or rearrange your seating without discarding the core structure.
The Waste Alchemists movement aims to change perspectives on waste. Systems like this show how furniture can be designed to prevent waste from the start by prioritising repair, adaptability and long-term use. By choosing this product, you invest in a circular approach that keeps materials in use for decades.
