Modular armchair made with otherwise wasted wool and recycled post-consumer PET by Kairos, designed for long-term comfort and adaptable living.
This 110 × 90 cm armchair offers generous comfort in a compact footprint. It’s designed to function as a standalone piece or as part of a larger modular configuration.
Kairos works in production batches to prevent overstock and reduce unnecessary waste. That keeps production controlled and materials in circulation, rather than in storage.
The powder-coated steel frame forms a stable base and includes connection points that allow future expansion. The back cushions are filled with rescued Dutch sheep wool for breathable support, while the seat cushion uses high-quality cold foam in two firmness options for lasting comfort.
All outer covers are removable and washable. If they wear out or you want to refresh the look, you can replace them without replacing the entire chair. Every component can be repaired or swapped using only an Allen key. This is furniture designed to remain relevant and functional for years.
If you’d like to learn more about how Kairos designs modular, repairable furniture with circular materials, you can explore their full story via the Alchemists page.
Each Kairos piece includes a materials passport detailing the components inside. The modular steel frame allows you to connect or reconfigure elements without replacing the structure.
The Waste Alchemists movement aims to change perspectives on waste. Products like this show how design can prevent waste from the start by prioritising repair, modularity and long-term use. By choosing this product, you support a system that keeps materials in use instead of discarding them.
