Thank you for these beautiful pictures Geke Bosch
We’re still getting goosebumps thinking back to the experience of celebrating the launch of the Waste Alchemists platform together with so many of you!
With over 85 of you joining, what stayed with us most was the energy you all brought: curiosity, playfulness, and so much joy. Everyone really took the time to explore, ask questions, meet each other, and step into a different way of looking at waste. At one moment, we paused to observe and appreciate what was happening around us:
- People meeting makers like Eversom, Green Side, i-did, Ragnarøk, Roestug, Studio Fiep, and Vuigmakers. In other words, the true heroes of waste transformation!
- People proudly showing their self-made bags from festival banners, keychains from bike tires, and other products made from “waste”
- People fully diving into the crossword challenge, even sneakily trying to squeeze some answers out of us 😉
- The sound of laughter and conversation while exploring waste in such a playful way

The moment people entered
For us, this evening confirmed that we are on the right track. Not only in building Waste Alchemists, but also in how we approach the topic. Waste transformation doesn’t have to feel heavy. It can be surprising, creative, and genuinely fun. It also showed us how much support there is, and that this should not be the last time we bring people together in such a way. Here are some things we overheard you say:
- “Wait… this is made out of waste? That’s awesome!”
- “I usually lose interest quickly, but the crossword challenge and activities really got me hooked!”
- “Wow! This experience alone already made me look completely differently at waste.”
That’s exactly why we’re doing this.

So, what now?
Most importantly, we want more and more people to change their perspective on waste, and to empower the makers who use waste as a valuable resource instead of new materials. Our invitation is simple: go explore the platform and discover:
- Alchemists: the unique stories of makers transforming waste
- Shop: a growing variety of awesome products made from waste
- Workshops: become a waste alchemist yourself through hands-on experiences
- Events: moments to connect and learn more about circular economy
- News: stories, insights, and updates from the world of waste transformation
This is just the beginning of changing the way we see waste. Thanks you for being part of this! 🙂
Big hug,
Daniel & Sam
